we are with Rafting Assosiation of Japan(RAJ)

13rafts, 2buses, 2vans, 2cars, 2trailers, and friendly crew! foreigner guides have been working for several years.

Place: 33Suhara Mino, Gifu501-3706 map

Mino is middle of main island of Japan between Tokyo and Osaka. this nice small city(25,000population) is not too busy but big enough to live. Nagoya, 3rd biggest city in Japan, is an hour drive away.
River: the Nagara River  grade(2+ to 4-)  no dam, clear water!

Season: all through the year, but mostly from April to October (busiest from July to September )

Trip detail: two trips a day.

morning trip: start 9:00am(cliants meeting time) and finish 12:30, 1.5hour on the river. 4km.

afternoon trip: start 12:00 and finish 16:00, 2hour on the river. 6km.

 

different section for the trips. upper part for morning trip and lower part for afternoon trip. take out of morning trip is put in for afternoon trip, easy! 10boats/60cliants maximum per trip. most clients are young Japanese, some family(10years and older) and few foreigners.

food: don’t worry. Japanese food is great. you will like it! There are some Chinese restaurants around too. there is also Macdonald’s in Mino City if you like junk food.

monthly payment

August: from 250,000yen ,July and September: from 200,000yen (7days off/month) *working days are flexible.
part time payment: from 6,000yen/trip

welcome for working holiday visa holder. we also can offer work visa to government, if you have are experienced enough.
required RAJ river guide license(we cover the cost and help to get it)

there is a guide house and company cars and lots of kayaks that are available for you to use.

we sell kayak gear and outdoor equipment in our shop. (The North Face, Keen, MSR etc.) You can buy them at staff price.

 

We do staff trip on October every year for a couple days. company pays travel cost.

 

To the kayakers: awesome runs around. late June to early July is the rainy season which is good for kayaking and we have typhoon during July to October which brings some great creeking.

I have competed in the freestyle kayaking world cup in 2007, also in the pre-world championships in 2005. So I welcome kayakers and I will be more then happy to go kayaking with you in Japan.
